Benton-Stephens here we come
Moving into Columbia, Missouri’s arsty fartsy neighborhood
Lily and I are just days away from closing on our new house. The area we’re moving to is going to be perfect for us. We will be living right in the middle of Columbia’s artsy fartsy neighborhood.
Yesterday was the perfect demonstration of that. After worship we were able to park our bikes at the new place, walk a couple blocks down the road, and meet up with friends at Art in the Park. The festival was full of vendors displaying crafts and artwork in every medium one could imagine. Some was better than others, but all of it very creative.
Sadly, Lily would not let me take home the robot cowboy riding a tricycle. Instead, I had to be content with two hand-crafted ramen bowls that perfectly match the rest of our dishes.
Sigh.
Fortunately, I was able to drown my lack of self-propelled robot sorrows with a Missouri lager while eating a hand-tossed wood fired pizza at the microbrewery two blocks in the other direction.
Not a bad way to spend the afternoon.
I think I’m going to like the Benton-Stephens neighborhood.
