Merry Christmas and happy new year

There is no question that Advent is one of the busiest times in the life of our church. Since Thanksgiving we have decorated our sanctuary. We have made hundreds of cookies to raise money in support of the Stoddard County Gospel Mission food bank. We have held multiple congregational dinners and begun a year-long discernment process. In addition to that we have continued to worship and spend in prayer and study.

None of this could be possible without the help and commitment of so many wonderful Disciples. For me the highlight of the whole season came last night with our church’s Christmas Eve Candlelight service. The music, the readers, and everyone involved in organizing the service did an excellent job. It is a blessing to be able to serve alongside all of the members and friends of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). Thank you for the love and support that you have shown to Lily and I throughout the past year. I pray that you have as wonderful a time with your friends and family today as we did together in worship last night.
