“Surely this is the Lord’s anointed.” (1 Samuel 16:7)

One week ahead of one of the most contentious elections in recent memory, the story of Samuel anointing of David to be king of Israel reminds us that God looks not on the outside, but on the human heart, to decide who should lead. It is my prayer that we do the same thing as we prepare to go in the voting booth.
